Ah... the time for preparing the garden, planting new plants, a time of open windows, sunny days, chilly mornings, warm afternoons, longer days, spring cleaning ...
I love spring. i really do. and the first part of summer. ... Im in texas. the middle part of summer is horrible. I love the idea of summer though. (flip flops, grilling out on the patio, collecting veggies from the garden (no, i dont even have plants planted right now, and im imagining picking squash from the garden... im getting ahead of myself.)
ANYWAYS back to spring.
So we had a rough winter. - It was flat out cold. all winter. we had alot of 'winter weather' - basically just sleet and freezing rain and freezing fog (Huh?!?!) and thunder-sleet (again...Huh?!?!) So Im anxious for warmer weather. we've already had a taste of spring-like weather (70*+) and has been magnificent. (I wish it always could be in the70's-80's. :)
A time to clean the house from top to bottom. dusting, sweeping, vaccuming, everything, from the ceiling fans, curtains, blinds, baseboards, and everything in between. A time to also clean out junk. A time to put stuff up for sale on ebay, or get bags and boxes ready for the salvation army.
(i am always putting stuff up for sale on ebay but I still have a pile of stuff in our guestroom that I really need to get listed.) anyways.
We keep the house tidy, and clean (i make sure to dust and vacuum every week, along with many other chores) But i do not DEEP clean as often as I should...
Yesterday I washed our rugs (the ones by the doors and in the kitchen. i've been meaning to for awhile now... but yesterday I actually did it.)
(How often do you wash your rugs???)
I really need to deep clean our blinds. we've got mini-blinds throughout ALOT Of the house... (hate them, want some nice blinds...like some of the rooms have) but in time... we're on a tight budget.) I dust them, but they're still icky. I need to wash them. or do something with them.
(who knows how to really clean them really good?? tips? Secrets?)
Happy spring everyone! Let's get out there and get stuff accomplished- whatever is on your to-do list. :)
